Spambite takes a unique approach to protecting corporate and ISP mail servers from spam mail. Instead of retrieving email from the mail server and storing it onto another system where it is processed, we process it directly on the mail server and then remove any email that can't be verified. This saves on bandwidth and server resources by not having to move the spam mail messages anywhere else on the network.

We also provide an appliance that can be plugged in literally anywhere on the network, that allows email users to retrieve their email. This means the current email servers will continue to do business as usual and won't even know the protection services are being used. The appliance we call a "Spambite Gate", takes care of communicating with the users mail clients and then passing on information to the real email server. Along the way it verifies each email message and removes spam.

As email messages are identified as potential spam, notifications are immediately sent to each address that sent the messages, notifying them of the problem and providing instructions for them to follow in order to prevent further messages from being blocked. Between the time an email is identified and the time the user follows the instructions, the email is quarantined on the email server for 24 hours. After which it will be removed for good. At any point within the 24 hour period, the user can request that the service allow the email to pass through to them even if the user that sent it has not validated themselves.

Another powerful feature of the Spambite Gateway Appliance is the GateKeeper software service that runs along side it. The GateKeeper is an application that runs while the user is away, allowing the Gateway to continue to clean a users mail box of spam, even when they are away from the office. Because the GateKeeper runs on the gate itself, it also cuts down on bandwidth as all subsequent validations are done from the gate itself and not the email server, cutting still further, bandwidth requirements.

It's also worth mentioning that one of Spambite's most powerful features is the fact that once a user validates an email address, they can send email to any other protected users without being blocked again. The reason this is possible is due to our advanced technology responsible for maintaining the Spambite Email Name Servers (ENS). The ENS has been designed to handled every single email address in the world and consists of multiple servers broken apart and distributed much like the current DNS servers are today.

With this technology, emails are validated, as well as protected by the same network. If someone begins to send more email per hour than the network allows (currently 100/hr default account type) then the account is shut down. If email begins to originate from an email server that isn't normally used by an email user, it is tagged by the network and watched carefully. If multiple users are added to that same server which would be the case if a spammer were using multiple validated email addresses of real users in order to get their mail through, the network would detect this and shut down the entire source email server.

When a user signs up for an account on a domain that is currently protected by your Spambite Gate, it will instruct the user on the specific steps required to use the protection. They are also provided with a detailed account management section on the secured Spambite.com website that allows them to keep track of who has sent them messages, adding people to their whitelist as well as many other functions built into the service. Installing the specialized Spambite Gate at your facility will prevent your corporate email from passing through our servers as no email moves through our network.
